Ahhh teenage angst. This is a great back to school, coming of age rom-com for the teenager in your life. Based on the novel by Jenny Han, the movie centers around Lara Jean Covey who, through a series of unfortunate events, gets her private love letters released to their recipients. As you might expect, the main characters find their way through plans and drama that only newly budding adults could concoct, full of signed contracts and fake relationships to go with it!
Out in theaters August 17, the movie stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parish, and Isreal Broussard.
Is the big hub-bub around this film, as it is one of the first to star an Asian American and with the recent release of “Crazy Rich Asians” (the first to have an all Asian American cast), it is time to start considering diversity is becoming a major concept to write about as well.
If you are looking to hit trending search topics (and score big with your kids), go watch this movie and write about it in your blogs, papers, essays, and news reports. Happy writing!
